Welcome back for round 6! This week we have another fun round inspired by Edyta Sitar’s book, Pillow Talk: 25 Lovely Pillows for Your Home Sweet Home. Riley Blake Fabric designers Beverly McCullough and Sedef Imer are going head-to-head with their creations!
Check out our announcement post to see all the talented participants.
Without further ado, let’s see what they made!
Sedef Imer’s Mother’s Day Pillow
Sedef Imer of Down Grapevine Lane sewed with her lovely collection Rhapsody for Riley Blake and quilted it on her home machine. These happy candy colors jump off the pillow! It’s the Mother’s Day design from Edyta’s book, but if you want to skip the hard parts, try the Pillow Kit with 61 pre-cut applique shapes with fusible webbing! They’re ready to go.
Beverly McCullough’s Love Birds Pillow
Beverly McCullough of Flamingo Toes used Edyta’s Love Birds design to showcase Rose Lane for Riley Blake. The pillow is complete with pom pom fringe and french knots for a sweet touch. The Love Birds Pillow Kit is available if you want to make one without the fuss of cutting and fusing the shapes!
Voting for Your Favorites
Each Thursday we invite you to vote for your favorite pillow project here on the blog. Find us on social with #PillowTalkPillowFight.
Congratulations to last week’s winner, Gina Tell of Thread Graffiti!
Please only vote one time. We’ll reveal the results next week.
Semi-Final Round Results
The votes are in, and Melissa Corry (@happyquiltingmc) took the cake in the Semi-Finals! Her Low-volume Chevron Pillow is a real stunner! That puts Melissa in the final running for Pillow Queen. In a few weeks, we’ll see who’ll be her worthy competitor.
We had 678 votes, and the winning vote goes to Dorothy Lamastus. Dorothy wins a Plus One Pillow Kit and a Laundry Basket Favorites Charm Pack.
Get Inspired with the Pillow Talk Book
Pillows are the best way to give any room an easy refresh, and Edyta has created this book exactly for all the HGTV moments where you are tempted to do a “quick home renovation” (of which we all know there is no such thing!) The designs in her book range from beginner to advanced and can be made using any fabric combinations you like, or with the Pillow Kits that have all you need for your DIY pillow cover.
We’ll see you back here next week to see creations by Mister Domestic (@misterdomestic) and Suzy Quilts (@suzyquilts)! In the meantime, if you sew up some Pillow Talk pillows, be sure to share your projects using #PillowTalkBook and tag us (@fatquartershop), @itssewemma and @laundrybasketquilts so we can see and share your work!
Happy Quilting!

WOW congratulations to Dorothy
what a wonderful prize
I love all of the pillows
I enjoy seeing all the pillows and can’t wait to see who wins. Pillows make such great quick gifts.
Love that pillow of Sedef’s! Would enjoy having the pattern.
So happy to get my own copy of Pillow Talk last week! Love both designs, but especially Sedef’s.
Loved Sedef’s pillow, a stand out amongst the crowd!
Sedef’s pillow is a WOW due to the bold colors! — But, Beverly’s is unique with the hand embroidery work. They are both beautiful in their own way. I truly enjoy seeing hand embroidery because I am addicted to it myself! Thank you SEW much for sharing your God Given Talents with us!!!
