Hey guys! So glad to finally be able to show you my new quilt in the Summer 2014 issue of Easy Quilts! Looking at it brings a huge smile to my face. It’s the fabric (Lottie Da by Heather Bailey) and the ikat-inspired blocks, plus the fact that they are made from stripsets to simplify the piecing. It’s understated but so fresh, with colorful ikats punctuated with speckled plus-sign corners.
And as a bonus, Easy Quilts has assembly instructions for three different sizes, so you can even make it for a twin or queen bed. If you make this quilt, please share! I’d love to see your version! If you like this one, Fons & Porter has Ikat Quilt Kits available, so click over to pick one up!
Kimberly here! One of my quilts, Old & New, is also in the same Easy Quilts issue. I’m always inspired by vintage quilts at shows and museums, and this was no exception. I took a really fun block I had seen (not sure of the name, anyone know?) and put it in V & Co fabrics to make this amazing combo. Quilts are so timeless, and I think this is a perfect example. Petite little cornerstones add a modern flair to the quilt, and altogether the quilt makes a huge lap quilt.
Old & New Quilt Kits are available at the Fons & Porter website, so if you love my bright modern version, you can find them there!

Way to go, Kimberly and Jocelyn. Both quilts are lovely.
I love Fons and Porter's Easy Quilts, and I love these two especially! Great job, ladies. Kimberly, I may just have to make this quilt myself.
These are fresh, makes me want summer even more now! Kim, I think that block is a version of the praire queen block, but not sure. It looks so familar. thank you for sharing. That's what I love about this website, it has way more eye candy than others.
