  1. After many years, I have realized that I love the "engineering" part of quilting – the "How did they do that?" moments. Even better is being able to draft something out myself to answer the question. My favorite notion is the Alex Anderson 4-in-1 Essential Sewing Tool. I just ordered another one this morning. The tops never stayed on any of them then I've bought, but that great tool with the seam ripper on the one end and the stiletto on the other sits right next to my machine. I love the convenience of two tool in my hand at once.

  2. I am not sure that scissors are a motion, but I love using Karen Kay Buckley's brand. Precision cutting!

Again, perhaps not a notion, but I would be lost without my Bionic Gear Bag…it holds everything Ineed for sewing on the fly !

  3. I have been quilting since 1984 and all I have ever needed were needle, thread, scissors and marking pencil. Thats it , I dont even use a thimble to quilt just my finger nail. What ever tickles your fancy however that is way too much notion for me and would never use it.

  4. I love quilting and started quilting in 1974 then got too busy with work, kids etc….. so returned around 1994. I have been obsessed ever since.
Favorite notion, too many to list. Each one has a special place, purple thang, fasturn, quick quarter, scissors ( have a small collection going), thimbles, jeanna kimball straw needles, etc…. See what I mean, too many to list.
