We were so happy to have some quilty friends make their versions of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Shortcut Quilt with us! Check out their blogs to see their unique twists on the FREE pattern Jolly Bar Bon Bons! Click on each of the photos to see them up close and see which quilter made each of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilts and their tips and tricks for making them.
Anne of Said With Love (@said_with_love) made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt using Bloomsbury by Franny & Jane for Moda Fabrics. She says, “I used the different colourways within the fabric line to have ‘rings’ of colours in the quilt… dark blues, light blues and corals in the middle.”
Heather of @the_nerdy_quilter on Instagram made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons quilt using All Weather Friend by April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics. She says, “This pattern is perfect for fabric that has big and bold prints. It comes together quickly so it would be a great last minute handmade gift project.”
Heidi of Buttons and Butterflies (@buttonsandbutterflies) made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt using Garden Variety by Moda Fabrics. She marked her half square triangles using a tracing wheel.
Jen V. of Heritage Threads (@heritage.threads) made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt using Garden Variety by Moda Fabrics. She says, “I added an extra row of blocks to make my quilt rectangular and asymmetrical. I love the movement it creates and the visual interest.”
Leanne of Daisy and Jack Handmade (@daisyandjack) made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt using Wren and Friends by Gina Martin for Moda Fabrics. She says, “I thought it was fun to use different fabrics for the bonbon and half square triangles so you could make this quick quilt with scraps too!”
Linden of Line Vines Creative made her version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt using Farm Fresh by Gingiber for Moda Fabrics. She says, “I upsided it a little – I used 5″ feature squares instead of 4.5″ and altered the rest of the pieces accordingly.”
We hope you decide to make your own version of the Jolly Bar Bon Bons Quilt and if you do, be sure to use the hashtag #JollyBarBonBonsQuilt and tag us (@fatquartershop) so we can see and share your work. I love this! Y’all always have the best patterns & Kimberly makes beautiful quilts
Very cute and easy quilt. In the examples you have, what is the dark background fabric used on the 3 quilts done in the dark gray/almost black tones?
Wonderful quilt.
