The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Lynn and Eileen of Holly Taylor to the Jolly Jabber. Holly Taylor’s latest fabric collection is Northern Cardinals from Moda.
Q: What was the first seed that grew into the Northern Cardinals collection?
A:The inspiration for Northern Cardinal is the success of previous lines with cardinals, as in Cardinal Season and Northwoods Botanical. They seem to be everyone’s favorites. The cardinal used in this line is indicative to our area and is called by that name in the Audubon world.
Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe this collection?
A:
1. Delicate
2. Beyond Christmas
3. Traditional
Q: What single print/SKU in the collection is your favorite (you can only pick one!)?
A: My favorite print in the collection is 6420 the red panel. It can be used in so many projects small and large.
Q:What is your dream project using this collection?
A: Taking all the cream prints from the line, use the panel and make a mostly tonal quilt with just that hint of red. It is always my favorite look.

Favorite print line ever was Moda’s English Oak from about 15 years ago.

I love birds, so it was a given that I was going to be drawn to this fabric. But, more the the birds, I LOVE the rich colors and delicate prints. Gorgeous. I already have plans for it!
I look forward to all of the Holly Taylor lines. I have two shelves of her lines. My family is waiting for her quilts. We are a family of outdoor people just like her fabrics. Thank you for letting me get to know her better.
