Q: Tell us a little about the Favorite Things Collection. What were you inspired by?
A:I had pulled an assortment of vintage fabrics together with no particular color palette in mind until I found myself continually drawn to the blue, brown and cream color palette I was seeing all around me in home décor magazines, catalogs and websites.
Q: What is your design process when beginning a new collection?
A:My approach is very organic and often times is reflected on what surrounds me or what I’m wanting to change up in my own personal space, but it always starts with vintage fabrics.
Q: What design trends are you currently exploring?
A:It’s hard not to be drawn and attracted to what’s happening with the modern quilt movement. Having 3 adult male children who prefer NOT to have any sort of flower in their quilt, I’m kind of enjoying designing fabric and quilts with a little less fuss and structure.
Q:What projects do you hope to see made with Favorite Things?
A:Since I “chose” NOT to learn how to sew apparel early on, like my older sisters did, I would love to see Favorite Things used in apparel and fashion accessories.
Q:How do you describe your style and how has it evolved over the years?
A:I still feel my style is classic, even from the very beginning, but has “matured” over the years.
Q:What are YOUR very favorite things and why?
A: Hands down, my family! They make me smile, laugh and sometimes cry (from laughing so hard)! We have a lot of fun when we’re all together!
We hope you enjoyed our interview with Gerri Robinson of Planted Seed Designs. Let us know in the comments below, what are some of YOUR very favorite things?

My favorite colors, too. Navy blue seems to be on the radar this year, even with clothing, purses and shoes.
What a gorgeous range of fabrics. I love the colours.
Family of course but also quilting with my friends on Cape Cod with a friend who has a sewing room to die for. She's sweet enough to invite us a couple of times a year for a whole weekend which we keep extending. Love love love this fabric line. My favorite color is blue and I love it with the tans and creams.

Wow, this is my boat to float in! I love the ENTIRE line. I would love to redo my house with these fabrics with paints to match.
Funny enough, one of my favorite things is seeing what Gerri comes out with next! So far she is speaking my quilt language, more so now with these blues and creams. I will most definitely be getting some of this to make one or more of the quilts out of her book "A Cut Above"! Thank you for sharing!
