Q: What inspired this collection?
A:Seascapes is inspired by our lives by the sea, that exists only in my imagination! We live in rural Ohio and although it is beautiful, there is something calming and rejuvenating about being in a place with water. The blues and greens of the water and the wonderful sounds of the tide are so relaxing! We have always wanted to live by the sea (or a river or lake), so “Seascapes” is inspired by that life by the water that my family dreams of.
Q: What is your favorite project using this collection?
A:Barb of Coach House Designs, has created 3 beautiful quilts using “Seascapes” and I love all three! By the Sea, Marina and Waves are such gorgeous patterns. She does a wonderful job and has created wonderful quilts that would definitely be in our “dream house by the sea.”
Q: What would be your collection’s theme song?
A:Probably, “Sitting by the Dock of the Bay,” by Otis Redding. It reminds me of a beautiful day by the water, with nothing to do but enjoy the sound of the waves, the sun and maybe a good book.
Q:If you could live in a movie, what movie would it be?
A:If I could live in a movie, it would have to be “Eat, Pray, Love” but I would want to take my family with me. I love to travel and want to see all of the beautiful places in the movie. I love food and that was a BIG part of the film. If my family were with me, we could share all of the adventures and have those memories forever!
Q:What do you get nostalgic over?
A: The holidays make me nostalgic in a heartwarming way. I remember past holidays, spent with family, eating huge meals and then laughing and sharing as we washed the mountain of dishes after. I cherish loved ones who have past and new additions to the family during these times. The holidays remind me of all the happy moments that I have had and to treasure the memories of them.
Q:What is your favorite TV show of all time?
A:It has to be “Modern Family“! I laugh out loud during the whole thing and love the spirit of the family. They love and support each other always.

I love Seascapes!
Ilove the Seascapes. I would love to get enough to make a queen size quilt for my son who lives in Charleston. This would be the perfect Christmas gift for him next year. The fabric is just beautiful.
I love this line. I plan on making a quilt for my niece because she got married and she lives in Santa Cruz by the ocean. It's perfect!
Beautiful fabrics & I love that they are all blue!
These blues caught my eyes!
Deb is one of my most favorite designers you have!
I love this fabric so much I asked for it for Christmas! My daughter gave me a layer cake but I'll need some more. Its more beautiful in person than pictures show it. We moved to FL recently so this is for ME!! Thanks Deb for such a gorgeous line!
Deb Strain always has such great designs. This one is so pretty.
