Hello there everyone! We are so happy to be here chatting with you on the Fat Quarter Shop blog today and sharing our newest line for Moda, April Showers. This was such a cheerful line for us to design. Our inspiration always comes from different places, but with this line, it was a scrap of an umbrella feedsack that we came across and immediately fell in love with. We knew we had to design a line around it, and knew it had to be called April Showers, and had to include plenty of May flowers.
We thought it would be fun to talk about some of our favorites the line, so here goes!
Our favorite April Showers prints!
Bonnie: That’s like asking me to choose a favorite child. (Camille: Which would be me, of course!) Hmm… I would have to say the aqua umbrella print. There is something so sweet about those red umbrellas. I also used just about every inch of my red polka dots when I was designing.
Bonnie: My favorite project to sew this time was my Cabin Christmas quilt. It was so fast to put together, and it was fun to use the line in a different way. Who knew that just using the red and greens from such a cheery springy line could make such a pretty Christmas quilt.
Camille: I would probably have to say my Puddle Jumping quilt. I loved using just the blues and the greens, and it has such a crisp, fresh feel. I’m about to start a scrappy Puddle Jumping, so stop by my Instagram to follow along and say hello!
What we are up to now!
Bonnie: Well, I just finished up my Charm Pack Cherry quilt, and I have another one on my list for a friend. I’m also working on some new designs which I’ll be showing on my blog soon, so keep an eye out.
Camille: Back in October I made a few mini versions of my new quilts for my Quilt Market booth and had lots of requests for patterns, which is how my mini quilt series was started. I’ve since made a few more mini patterns, and have loved seeing them pop up as people sew and hang them in their sewing spaces. I guess you could say I have mini fever!

Love them all! Could be because I love this line of fabric.
All the projects are so fun. I do love the umbrella print and mixed with some polka dot pinwheels – what a sweet quilt.
I love them all, especially the dots and stripes, but my fave is the umbrellas… so fun!
They're all beautiful.
Would have to say Swoon or Mini Swoon. Love the navy and mint green prints from the April Showers line.
I love the mini quilts!
Who wouldn't love a Bundle of Spring Showers, to wash all of the snow away
I just made the Rainy Day Raindrop bag, using an April Showers charm pack and yardage. I made it using reds and teals, and it came out SO pretty! I just love the April Showers fabric collection, and purchased a jelly roll, but I haven't picked a pattern yet. Maybe the Spools pattern?
I have loved this line since the first pic I saw! My favorite is the grey raindrops, it goes with everything, so I had to get a whole bolt, since it is truly going on everything!
THANKS FOR SHARING!
It's very difficult to choose just one . . . . but I really like the white with the little umbrellas!

My utmost favorites are all the umbrella and raindrop prints. I love rainy days best,(weird huh)and with my husband's birthday in April – well, if I could, I'd buy a bolt of each.
My favorite April Showers print is:

I love the Puddle Jumping quilt and all the blues and greens in the sample.
I love the blues and greens together in Puddle jumping. Also Bonnies Splash quilt.
I would love to do a charm cherry block quilt with the blues and greens. So calming.
I love all the navy blue prints!
When I was young, the umbrella I carried to school had a big white ribbon on the handle, so the umbrella prints would be favorites of mine. Love that puddle jumping pattern!
My favorite fabric is the aqua and red umbrellas. They look so nostalgic. My favorite patterns are the mini dwell quilt and the 6-pointed triangular star. Really nice line!
I just today got my charm pack in the mail of April Showers! I am totally in love!! I love the colors, and now I have to save my "pennies" and buy some fat quarters or yardage. I feel compelled to make a quilt with this fabric.
I promise, I'm not trying to flatter you, but I just love all of your fabric designs. It began with "Vintage Modern" and then " Marmalade" , (my 2 favorite lines until April Showers" came a long) hey, I think that that is a line from an old song..lol
Cheers

I really like all versions of the raindrops. Overall the green and the green color ways are my favorite. Very nice collection!
The ironing caddy is looking like something I really need, where do I get the pattern… Please advise….
Every one of these patterns appeal to me. I love the colors and patterns of the fabric.
Love just about everything I see with April Showers but I'm particularly fond of Puddle Jumping.
