The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Kelle Boyd of Ann Kelle to the Jolly Jabber. Kelle’s latest fabric collection is Jingle from Robert Kaufman Fabrics.
Q: What or who would you dedicate this collection to? Do you have an inspiration board?
A: I designed Jingle because I love Christmas! It’s my favorite time of the year! For this collection, instead of an inspiration board, I watched Christmas movies, read Christmas books and listened to Christmas music.
Q: What is your favorite project using this collection?
A: Next month, I’m having a “Christmas in July” series on my blog. I teamed up with several sewers to create fun sewing projects of things made from my Jingle fabric line. Christmas garland, stockings, and quilts are some of my favorites. But, one of the sewing projects I’m super excited about are Christmas lounge pants.
Q: If time travel became possible, what year would you want to be in?
A: I would go back to 1984 and tell my six year old self to be a little bit braver and that life turns out just dandy.
Q: If you had to change your first name what would you change it to?
A: Stevie. I’ve always wanted a tough name and I think Stevie Nicks is cool.
Q: What was your favorite childhood TV show?
A: I watched the Cosby Show every Thursday evening.
Q: Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
A: Nicole Kidman. She and Keith Urban were eating dinner across from me. Living in Nashville, I’ve actually met a lot of famous people from grocery shopping in the same aisle with a member of Rascal Flatts to sitting behind Hillary Scott (Lady Antebellum) in church.
Q: What is your favorite App to play on your phone?
A: Instagram.
Q: If you could marry a technology, what would it be?
A: My Macbook Pro. Whenever there’s a tornado warning or something, I always grab it before going to my safe place.
