Fall is in full swing here at FQS! We’re feeling inspired by nature with warm golds, soft browns, and inviting copper colors everywhere you look! This month’s Button Lovers’ Club is a range of brown hues with so many crafting options!
We have an adorable fall decoration for you this month that looks like it was plucked right from our backyard trees! This mixture of textures is such a fun way to welcome fall into your home.
Ready to add this fall-inspired decor to your home? Use these simple instructions below!
Acorn by Fat Quarter Shop
Directions
- Using the FREE Acorn template, trace the acorn shape and text to your fabrics. We used our handy Lightpad. Templates are actual size and do not include a 1/4″ seam allowance.
- Assemble the acorn, using your favorite applique technique!
- Add your fabulous November buttons to the applique!
Pat Sloan quilted along with us! Here are her acorn template interpretations:
This block was made using the Le Marais Charm Pack and our favorite Aurifil 80wt thread.
This acorn uses Prairie Coral Polka Dot by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics and Bella Solids Moda U Brown.
This free template is so much fun, and can be made completely custom with the fabric of your choice for a different look and feel! We’ve shown you three versatile options, but the possibilities are endless! What color palette and fabric collection will you choose? We’re excited to see!

Beautiful projects, indeed! I have heard that today is International Button Day, so I wish you a happy button day from one button lover to another ????
Corey's Prairie fabric line is from Moda, not Camelot. Thanks for sharing Pat's versions of this block.
These are such cute ideas ♥
