  37. My fave Bernina is the 440QE… I know they don't make it any more, but I have 2 and wouldn't trade them for anything. I use one at home, permanently set up in my studio, and the other stays in a rolling trolley to take to classes, sew-ins and retreats. Perfect machines except for the throat size (could be bigger, but I don't want a heavier machine so I'll stay away from the bigger ones).

  44. I love my old and well used 830! I can make it stand on it's head if needed. I grateful for the quality and dependability of this trusty sewing room friend, over the years.
    I hope someday to own a Bernina with a stitch regulator and the blanket stitch. Ahhh, bliss.

  45. I own a few old machines but have yet to buy a vintage Bernina, so my dream machine would be a vintage one from back when they were green!

  50. My dream Bernina is any Bernina and many Berninas. In the fall of 2014 I both found out I was being laid off from my job as a professor and that I had a benign brain tumor. A good friend of mine suggested I take up quilting to help cope with the stress. In August of 2015 I did. Over the last 15 months I have made over a dozen quilts including a civil war union sample and 1930's farmer's wife. Quilting keeps me sane. Last month the 15+ year old sewing machine that I bought refurbished on overstock finally died. I am currently borrowing a little machine from that same friend who has since upgraded. All the ladies at my sewing group have encouraged me to buy a new machine and have let me try their Berninas. I have such sewing machine envy, but haven't found work yet, and can't buy my own. One day I will own several Berninas. One for free motion, one for classes… Now, I search the used furniture shops for deals on old used ones. I would be so grateful to win my first one 🙂

  61. My dream Bernina would be a B740, my sister in law has one and I love it! We often get together and do projects together, I take my machine over to her house but i end up on one of her V L Berninas, usually the 740. Its a dream.

  151. I have never owned a Bernina… Kenmore, Janome, Brother and Singer. I've been hearing things about Bernina though! I wouldn't know which one to get/have though as I would want it to be easy peasy and great for quilting.

  307. I would like any of the Bernina's that accomodate the special free motion quilting foot – the one that changes the speed of the needle with your own speed? I've heard of it – just not sure the technical name.

Well I would be happy with the B215 model of white and red buttons, due to several reasons: the first is because I am new to the world of sewing, and I would like to learn with a machine that is easy to handle. The second reason is that I am currently unemployed, and I would like to start my own business to support my 2-year-old daughter and survive the terrible economic crisis that my country is experiencing, and help my husband with household expenses.

    I started making rag dolls and Barbie clothes, but the Singer sewing machine that belonged to my grandmother was damaged, and I do not have the money to repair it. And it is now impossible for me and my husband to buy a new machine because the devaluation of our national currency increased 5 times the price of sewing machines.

Boy is is a wonderful machine to use. So much easier to get seams to match up. Going to be trying the BSR next as I have a table runner to quilt.
