Anne Sutton is back at the Jolly Jabber with–yes–another Emma line called Flowers for Emma. It’s full of those soft earthy spring pastels we’ve come to know and love from Bunny Hill Designs, and of course her dainty birds. The complementing check and mini-check prints make it suitable for sweet little girls.
Hi Everyone! Wow, Emma is so cute I could name every fabric line after her! I realize some of you may think I already have. Who can help themselves? Did you see her in the photo opening presents? She went right for the pink bow…a girl after my own heart!
Just in time for her birthday “Flowers for Emma” has arrived at the Fat Quarter Shop. My newest fabric line, Flowers for Emma has shades of little pink roses, tiny little birds and even bird nests. Both elegant and sweet, I’ve had a whole lot of fun making projects with this fabric! I can’t wait to show you! Just a few more weeks to go and I’ll be done.
I started this fabric line just after Emma was born. It’s a follow up to Miss Emma’s Garden, and both lines were named after this precious little girl! I watched as my drawings went from paper to fabric and now it’s Happy Birthday to Emma!
To think that this fabric started with my little drawings is beyond my wildest dreams. I love to doodle, and always have. I keep sketch books all over the house, and fill them with “idea” drawings when they come to me. It’s where my inspiration often begins and the only way I can remember my ideas! Flowers for Emma began with a little sketch I found of a bird nest. I sketched it when I received a bird nest as a gift from a friend. What could go better with a bird nest than roses, birds and ribbons!
I hope you enjoy working with this fabric line. Look at the fabric and remember where it all started. That sweet little baby named Emma… (: She brings out the best in all of us!

Hi, Anne,
As a fellow pattern designer, I’ve admired your patterns since I first saw them, and your fabrics are just lovely. It is interesting to hear from you firsthand about the design process. Congratulations!
