Announcing the Clementine Quilt Along!

Hey everyone!  We are just past the halfway point with our Patchwork Quilt Along, but 2018 will be here in the blink of an eye, and we will be ready to start our next quilt along!  We have it all ready to show you, and we hope you love it just as much as we do.  We are calling it the 2018 Clementine Quilt Along, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, whom we love supporting.  Their mission is to save children by making their research and findings available to everyone AND by treating children at no cost to the families, so they can focus on the one thing that matters – helping their children get better.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital logoWe are also partnering with Moda Fabrics once again, who has generously worked with us since we started doing these quilt alongs to benefit our community.

Together, Fat Quarter Shop and Moda Fabrics will match up to $20,000 of your donations in 2018 to our St. Jude fundraiser.

The donation page will be ready soon, and we will update this post once it’s ready.

Now… onto the super fun part… here is the beautiful quilt for the 2018 Clementine Quilt Along!

This collection sings of Summer… a blue skies, iced lemonade, red popsicles, grass under your bare feet and running through sprinklers kind of Summer.  And P.S. that longarm quilting is the lovely custom work of Natalia Bonner aka Piece N Quilt!clementine quilt along

If you have not worked with blocks on point before, don’t worry!  The beauty of this quilt is that you repeat the same blocks in different sizes, and the way we have you finish the blocks is easy breezy.  You will love our method!clementine quilt along

  1. Ack! My list of sew alongs is getting larger and larger by the day! This is another super beautiful one to consider…I do love the fabric choice. Hmmm.

  2. I wanted to write real quick and say what a beautiful line of fabric coming out. It is SO cheery ( and my personal favorite colors when I’m struggling with hard days). I am glad that St Judes is being supported by this endeavor. I currently make and donate children’s quilts to a children’s hospital in Portland where my 6 year old grandson Ollie has had 3 brain surgeries ( tumors)and many other specialized appointments for his blindness, cerebral palsey, prenatal stroke and a rare kidney disease . I had the privilege yesterday of donating 16 quilts as we had Ollies appointments at the hospital there. It was a ROUGH day for our hero and in the next 2 weeks we will be learning more about another surgery he is now needing. I’m not ready for it. Honestly, I’m just not ready. So…I’m sewing again with nothing but tears building but new quilts will be made with what fabric scraps I have, and this ( and Ollies sweet laughter) will get me thru again. I so applaud you all for donating to hospitals like St. Judea and even Ollies kind of children’s hospital. Its been the most rewarding gift I’ve given to anyone..

    1. Ahhh, this had got to be tough for you and your family. What a beautiful thing you’ve done with your donations. Your grand baby is a lucky little guy to have you. I am sending positive thoughts and virtual hugs. ❤️Donna

      1. Donna C…Ollie, our grandson makes us a better person..he keeps me company when I sew. He loves the noise that my sewing machine makes .(especially when it’s not working right- it’s old and almost ready to die a horrible death 😬)..He challenges me with added patience and understanding when I can’t figure out exactly what he needs…that’s the hardest part of the journey.

  3. Hi, I’m new at this block a month thing. We get 3 patterns and then need to purchase the other 3? Im confused I guess since you are encourages donate $5 per pattern to St. JUDE. Which is why I want to do this just need some clarification. This is and it really is lovely fabrics, pattern, and quilt!

    1. Hi Julie! Thanks for asking! The kit will include the first 3 patterns printed for your convenience, so you can get a head start as a little bonus for buying the kit. But we will have a St. Jude donation page set up, and we still encourage you to donate $5 per all the patterns to the donation page. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have more questions. Thanks!

  4. I’ll definitely participate. St. Judd does such an amazing job for children and their families.
