Vanessa Goertzen Visits Texas!

Last month, the talented pattern and fabric designer Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique, came to visit Fat Quarter Shop!

We haven’t been able to have many guests in the last year, so it was really fun and exciting to host Vanessa! She was a wonderful guest, and we hope to have her back soon.

Vanessa is the author of Rose in Bloom, a Block of the Month book by It’s Sew Emma. The Rose in Bloom Quilt features ten enchanting quilt blocks arranged into a floral-inspired setting! The block of the month includes over 16.5 yards of Love Note fabrics by Lella Boutique for the 84.5″ x 84.5″ quilt top and binding. Love Note was originally inspired by the novel Rose in Bloom, written by famous author Louisa May Alcott!

We filmed lots of tutorials and fun videos and soon, we’ll have them all ready for you to enjoy on our YouTube channel. Vanessa even hosted our Friday Livestream to show us a full reveal of the Rose in Bloom quilt, a Lella Boutique trunk show, and the inspiration behind many of her beautiful fabric collections.

New tutorials are coming out in November. Vanessa will be covering lots of quilting topics in her tutorials, including how to prepare for quilting at home and how to do machine binding! Look for the videos on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel, and subscribe so you don’t miss a video!

While Vanessa was here she also gave us a sneak peek of her upcoming fabric release, Flower Pot! This quaint collection features florals, stripes, text, and dots in soothing colors.

Not only did we get to see Vanessa’s new collection, but we saw some of her upcoming quilt designs. From Flourish to Gingham Style and Gather, we can’t wait to put Flower Pot and our sewing machines to the test!
