Stitch-mas in July with Aurifil and a Sneak Peek!

Stitch-Mas in July

We are all about projects that help us get ahead of the holiday season this year, whether it’s quilting (like the Merry Mini Quilt or Half Yard Wreath Wall Hanging) or cross stitch (ALL the Jolly July!).  So when Aurifil reached out to see if we would be willing to join their month-long Stitch-mas in July event, we were as excited as a kid on Christmas morning!  Or at least as excited as a kid with a new box of Merry Stitch-mas AuriFloss to play with!

Free Cross Stitch Pattern: Sparkly Snowflakes!

We designed a darling FREE cross stitch pattern to join in the Stitch-mas festivities, and we couldn’t wait to give you a little sneak peek.  The free pattern will be posted tomorrow, so for today you can visit the Aurifil blog to see all the cross stitch designs that have been revealed so far, then come back tomorrow to get the pattern for this little beauty!

The Merry Stitch-Mas box contains seven bright and happy holiday colors.  Our cross stitch pattern, Sparkly Snowflakes, uses those splashy colors to stitch up a trio of frosty snowflake ornaments tied with bright red ribbons.  Twinkling lights and a green garland border complete the scene!

We stitched this design on Touch of Grey 14 Count Aida cloth as a nice neutral base to set off all the vivid colors and framed it in the 4″ Square Vintage Frame by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet Co.  It finishes at 3.5″ square in 14 count, and it’s such a sweet, artful addition to your winter decor!

Tomorrow, you can find the free pattern for Sparkly Snowflakes on the Aurifil free patterns page, along with the 20+ free designs from Elly Destro and the other featured guest designers, which are Wendy Sheppard, Susan Ache and Beverly McCullough!  Of course you can also find it on Fat Quarter Shop’s Free Cross Stitch Patterns page as well, so keep that page bookmarked!

  1. This is a great pattern. Thank you for making it free, and thank you for making it so easy to read with colors and symbols.

I may try to make a few in different color ways while i’m learning to cross stitch.

  2. I love it and am excited to get started on it. I am going to change the colors.
