The Pineapple Quilt Block Foundation Paper comes in 2 sizes: a 6″ finished block and a 12″ finished block. We recommend making 12 blocks and sewing them all together. No pattern needed!
For the more adventurous quilter, check out the FREE Pineapple Day Pattern that uses both the 6″ Pineapple Paper and the 12″ Pineapple Paper to create quite the quilt! This foundation paper is great for piecing together scraps and pieces from your stash as well as making the classic pineapple quilt block!
Pineapple Day Free Quilt Pattern
Pineapple Block Foundation Paper
We’re using Pineapple Quilt Block Foundation Paper for our Pineapple Quilts these days, so we’ve put together a quick tutorial for you. To really get the hang of this, grab a 12″ pad of foundation paper, 2.5″ strips or a Jelly Roll and read on for the tutorial! This technique is the same for 6″ paper pads, which are perfect for 1.5″ strips or a Honey Bun.
Foundation Paper Piecing Supplies
Besides the basics and a good iron, you’ll need:
- A pack of 6″ Pineapple Foundation Paper or 12″ Pineapple Foundation Paper
- A 6″ Add A Quarter or a 12″ Add A Quarter ruler
- A Fabric Glue Pen
- A Jelly Roll and solid fabric
- A light box, or a good light source, like a lamp or sunny window helps
