Jolly Bar Row Along - Week 2 - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Jolly Bar Row Along – Week 2

We’re back with the second release of the Jolly Bar Row Along! The Jolly Bar Book Volume 2 contains more than 20 fun, fast quilts made with Jolly Bars. In case you haven’t come across them before, Jolly Bars are a 5” x 10” exclusive Fat Quarter Shop precut that hit your sweet spot. To celebrate the book, we’re hosting the Jolly Bar Row Along!

We are sewing row-by-row for seven weeks to make this beautiful sampler quilt full of sparrows, butterflies, hearts and more! We have some friends sewing along with us who will be showing off their blocks each week so you can sew along with them and get motivation along the way!

Kimberly sewed hers up with the new Bloomington collection by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics.

We have the full Fabric Requirements HERE for you to use. You’ll need a copy of the Jolly Bar Book Volume 2. *Please note: Pre-washing and starching Jolly Bars is not recommended for patterns in this book. Make sure to measure twice before cutting and plan out fabric placement for this quilt.

Who’s Sewing Along – Featured Quilters

    1. Hi! No, it does not. You just need to pick your fabrics and use the book.

  1. Sadly I fear this will be over before I even get my book…..maybe I can still join in hopefully. This looks fun! Loving the blocks so far!

    1. Hi! We will keep all of the blogs live so you can sew at any time. I’m so sorry we are all still experiencing shipping delays!

  2. Hello, I’m trying to make the Jolly Bar blocks but have no idea what the measurements are supposed to be when I cut. A & B don’t give me any measurements so I have not started this one at all. Would like to keep up but I’m not going to cut good fabric when I don’t know what size pieces I have to cut. Maybe I’m dense and just don’t get it but I certainly could use some help. Thank you in advance, I sincerely appreciate it.

  3. WOO HOO! I just finished my Sparrows and the first week of the Jelly Snowflake Mystery. Sure hope I can keep up doing both of these fun SAL’s at the same time!

  4. Are we supposed to sew the blocks together into rows as we complete the blocks? For example, when I completed the sparrow tracks row 1 according to the book directions, I used 2 1/2 inch sashing. This created a 46 1/2 inch row. The spinning spool blocks in row 2 create at 43 inch row.

Please let me know if I am supposed to assemble each row as I sew it or leave the blocks unconnected until the final week. Thank you.
