FREE PATTERN: Happy Worldwide Quilting Day 2020

Happy (almost) Worldwide Quilting Day! We’re gearing up to celebrate the day we are “sew” excited for every year! To celebrate together, we have designed a wonderful new FREE Quilt Pattern and we know you’ll love it. We’re introducing the Mini Wonder Quilt this year and hope you’ll give it a try!

World Wide Quilting Day (and National Quilting Day) is celebrated yearly on the third Saturday of March. Quilting feeds our creative souls and is an art and craft shared across countless countries and cultures. In recognition of the small and wonderful world we live in, we designed the Mini Wonder Quilt. As you can see, nine different blocks make up this mini quilt, representing quilters from all corners of the world.

The Mini Wonder Quilt will sew up quick and easy.  It starts with 2.5” square Mini Charms, but you can cut your fabrics from Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes or yardage. It’s a good time to use up those scraps!

Kimberly’s Mini Wonder is looking wonderful in At Home by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics. At Home offers two colorways. We used Bonnie’s red colorway bundle.

Download your FREE Mini Wonder Quilt pattern and your grab your Fabric Requirements to get started.

If you’d like to make your own, some of our FQS staffers sewed up some inspiration. This cute quilt looks great in every fabric, so make yours truly your own!

Here’s a close up of the matchstick quilting that Nova did on her home sewing machine. If you’d like some tips for Free Motion Quilting, check out this video tutorial.

Keep up with us on social so we can see and share your work! Meet new quilters who are sewing along too and share tips and tricks for finishing yours!
