The 3-Hour Baby Gingham Quilt

3-Hour Baby Gingham QuiltHappy Friday, quilters!  A while back, we got a request from one of our YouTube subscribers for an easy gingham quilt.  Yes, gingham quilts are made up of rows of straight squares, but could we make it even easier?  We took on the challenge and did it!  Today, we are presenting the 3-Hour Baby Gingham Quilt.  Three hours is long enough for you to make this quilt from first cut to finished quilt top.  Intrigued?  Grab the free 3-Hour Baby Gingham Quilt pattern and press play below to see how we did it!

We used the Essentially Yours basics line from Moda Fabrics to create our 3-Hour Baby Gingham Quilt.  This collection of mini dots, checks and strips has an awesome array of light and dark values that mix so well.  The most important part of this quilt is choosing the right tones to make it monochromatic, like a true gingham fabric, so in the free pattern, we have listed six color combos from Essentially Yours to make red, blue, yellow, lime, aqua and gray versions.

There is nothing that feels as fresh as a simple gingham quilt!

This quilt is so quick to whip up as a baby shower gift, but I have a hankering to use it for picnics this season!  We hope you enjoy this sweet, simple beauty (and especially how fast it comes together).  And of course, share them with us on social media!  Comment and let us know what you think, and if you have any other ideas for our next video project!

Tutorial: How to Use Impressions Quilting Templates

Have you gotten your hands on the awesome new Orange Peel Templates?! Today, we’ll show you exactly how to use these fun templates! Check out this easy-to-follow video!
These four new patterns are so fun to make! You might have seen them in our favorite Bella Solids, but we’ve made them in some of our favorite new collections, too!
We used the fun and colorful prints of Blueberry Park by Karen Lewis Textiles for Robert Kaufman Fabrics! These prints are small and subtle enough that the fish shapes we love are still the star of the show! Purchase your Pattern today and bring this quilt to life!
Friedlander by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman Fabrics is a fun collection with a large variety of colorways! We love how that periwinkle blue just pops in the center of the Grapevine Pattern!
We softened up the Jewel Pattern by using First Blush by Ruby Red Designs for Windham Fabrics. These dainty florals are perfect to highlight the petals of this pattern!
The Round Robin Pattern is so versatile, and we decided to make it in Manderley by Franny and Jane for Moda Fabrics. This collection features contemporary prints in a variety of sizes, making it perfect for this quilt pattern!
Are you feeling inspired? We can’t wait to see what you create with these fun Impressions templates and new patterns! To help you get started, we’re giving away a set of Aurifil Thread that corresponds with the quilt kits! Subscribe to our YouTube Channel to be entered to win! After pressing and cutting the Jelly Roll strips, we aligned them with the solid block squares!
Next, we lined up the long strips, short strips, and solid blocks!

This week we’re giving away two Awesome Applique Prize Packs! Each lucky winner will receive a Fat Quarter Shop Tin Set, ten spools of Aurifil 80 wt Applique Thread, a package of 16 Straw Needles, Poke-A-Dots Sticky Thimbles, and one Charm Pack of Bella Solids containing assorted colors. Each Prize Pack (shown in the tray above) is valued at over $80!
