Get Mad about Mesh with ByAnnie!

Annie Unrein never ceases to amaze us with all the notions she has come up with.  While we never thought of sewing with mesh and elastic – because let’s be honest, we’re quilters and straight up cotton is our fave – she has us all signed up to make a bunch of these fun, quick and easy Mad about Mesh mesh zipper bags!  These bags have endless uses, especially with Summer coming up.  They can store beach toys, swimwear, flip flops, e-readers, small EPP projects (quilters at the beach, am I right?).

Start with a Mad about Mesh pattern, a pack of the ByAnnie lightweight mesh and fold over elastic, plus an easy-to-sew ByAnnie zipper, and just press play.  You will end up with a fantastically useful little mesh bag that can hold anything AND a compulsive need to make 30 more for all of your friends!

Here’s the bag she is demonstrating…

It is just so darn simple…

Loving this rainbow of mesh-iness!

Go monochrome or wild with your mesh, zipper and elastic color combo. You can’t go wrong!

Have you tried these ByAnnie zippers? Cuz you really need to try these zippers.

Once the zipper is sewn on and your corners are rounded, it’s time to finish it off with the fold over elastic, which works just like bias tape, but it’s shiny and stretchy and super fun!

Fold over elastic is an easy way to give your project a professional finish!

And that’s all it takes!  Make and share your mesh bags with us on Instagram and Facebook, and enjoy them all Summer long!
