AGF Stitched: The Vibrations Quilt

Happy Thursday! We’ve released another quilt as a part of our AGF Stitched series and this FREE pattern is sure to capture you with its good vibrations! This quilt, at first glance, is no small feat, but we’ve broken it down to the block level in our FREE video tutorial to show just how easy it goes together.

Along with the pattern, we have the Vibrations Quilt Kit and matching Backing Set so you can make your quilt just like ours. The Quilt Kit comes with the Vibrations Quilt Pattern, Creative Grids Cat’s Cradle XL Ruler, 7″ Half Square Triangle Paper, and Meriwether fabric for the 70.5″ x 84.5″ quilt top and binding.

The fabrics in this quilt, Meriwether by AGF Studios for Art Gallery Fabrics, have captured our imagination! What frolics behind the garden wall? It’s a collection of botanicals, wild hares and beetles.

Easy Cat’s Cradle Block

One of the building blocks of this quilt is a Cat’s Cradle. It’s a traditional block made with triangles. However, we’re using squares and rectangles to make ours thanks to the Creative Grids Cat’s Cradle XL Ruler. The Cat’s Cradle Ruler allows us to make two units at once, thus saving time, and we can avoid making multiple HST units and trimming down, thus saving fabric. No bias edges to worry about here! Of course, you can make your Cat’s Cradle units however you like, but this is the method we chose.
